This is a very simple to use calculator to help with planning out your robot wiring paths. Here you can find all of the different cable and connector types most commonly used on an FTC robot.
For ease of use, here are the most common types of cables and connectors on an FTC robot:
Power:
- Yellow power connectors - XT30[U]
- JST VH - Connector that plugs into the Rev Control and Expansion Hub motor ports
- Black circular connector on motors - Bullet Connector (3.5mm Banana Plug)
- Power Cables - Most common gauge (awg) is 18, 16awg is recommended but found mainly on custom wired robots
Servo:
- Servo Connectors - Dupont/TCJ8 (Locking and non locking variants exist)
- Servo Cable - most common is 22awg, recomended is 20awg
Data:
- JST PH - 3 and 4 pin variants, mainly found on sensor and RS485 cables
- JST XH - 4 pin variant, only found on goBILDA motor encoder cables
- Data Cable - most common type is 24awg, all FTC Vendors use this gauge
